Point-of-entry treatment

Treated water at every tap.

Whole-home treatment is installed where water enters the house, so treated water reaches your kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and water-using appliances.

It's a common choice for city or municipal water. The right equipment depends on your water source, your water conditions and what you want to improve.

Signs it may be worth considering

  • Chlorine taste or smell at taps throughout the house
  • Sediment collecting in faucet aerators or fixtures
  • You want more than a pitcher or faucet filter
  • You're on city water and want treatment beyond the kitchen

Why homeowners choose it

Treatment throughout the home.

One point-of-entry system, selected around your water source and goals, instead of separate filters at each faucet.

  1. Water enters the home

City water or a private well.

  2. Treated at the point of entry

Selected around your water source and goals.

  3. Reaches every tap

    Kitchen, bathrooms, showers and laundry.

  1. Treated water at every tap

Kitchen, bathrooms, showers and laundry, not just one faucet.

  2. One system at the source

Treatment where water enters the home instead of separate filters around the house.

  3. Configured for your water

Selected around your water source, conditions and what you want to improve.

  4. Pairs with reverse osmosis

Add RO at the kitchen sink if you also want filtered drinking water.

Depending on the system, it may help with

  • Addressing sediment
  • Reducing chlorine, where appropriate
  • Improving certain taste and odor concerns
  • Treating an identified concern throughout the home, not only at one faucet

Whole-home treatment doesn't remove everything, and no single system addresses every water-quality concern.

What is the difference between under-sink RO and whole-home water treatment?

Under-sink RO is a point-of-use system: it treats water for a dedicated drinking-water faucet in your kitchen. Whole-home treatment is installed where water enters the house, so treated water reaches your faucets, showers and water-using appliances. They address different goals, and some homes use both.

What does a whole-home water-treatment system do?

A whole-home system treats water as it enters your home. Depending on the equipment selected, it can be configured for concerns such as sediment, chlorine, taste and odor. Hard water is handled by a water softener, and homes on private wells are treated based on testing; each is its own service. No single system addresses every water-quality concern, so the right equipment depends on your water.

How do I know which whole-home system I need?

It depends on your water source, your water quality and what you'd like to improve. You don't need to work it out yourself: schedule an installation and tell us your water source and concerns. We review your water, with testing where appropriate, then confirm the system and your complete price before work begins.

Can I have a whole-home system and an under-sink RO system?

Yes. They do different jobs: whole-home treatment addresses the water throughout your house, while an under-sink RO system provides filtered drinking water at a dedicated kitchen faucet. Some homes use both.

Not sure what your home needs?

Schedule your installation and tell us about your water source and concerns. We'll review your water and confirm the right system and your complete price.
